UNDERSTANDING INTERNET BEYOND THE BASICS

Before a computer is used for internet; it has to be made ready for the internet. Until internet facilities are stored, an ordinary computer can not access the internet. To set up a computer for internet, the basic things must be consider:COMPUTER SUITABILITYThe efficacy of browsers depends on how good the system is ready for internet connections. The main important thing to be considered in checking system suitability includes; 1.Processor (CPU): The central processing unit speed should be at least 333mHz, 500mHz and above. The lower the processor speed the slower the browsing.2.Memory (RAM): To enjoy a fast transfer of data, it is most preferred to use 128MB, 256Mb and above.3.Operating system: As technology advanced, it is excellent to use an up-graded OS like Microsoft windows (XP sp2, and above) 4.Modern: Modern derived from the drives full name, ‘Modulator’ and ‘demodulator’ a device that allows computer to send and receive data, from internet lines, converting analog data to digital and digital to analogue respectively. The ability of the modern to convert these signals faster depends on how fast the connection would be. It is wisdom to use a modern ranging from 9600bps to about 56,000bps (bps=bits per second)SETTING UP PROCESSObtain a software from an Internet service provider (ISP) and the necessary device. Follow the ISP's instructions for installing the softwareThe installation program will most likely guide you through the process of registering and setting up your online account.
